Throughout town, Bethel continues to work to recover from Tropical Storm Isaiah, with more than half the homes in town still without power as of press time. Down trees, such as the one photographed by resident Bill Hillman above, continue to block many streets. Work crews are delayed in removing them as many are entwined with potentially live wires and must be secured by Eversource crews before they can be removed.

Governor Lamont and many state officials are calling for an investigation into the response by Eversource to the storm, which has been described as “unacceptable.”
