At 2:25 pm on August 3rd, Stony Hill Fire & EMS were dispatched on a report of a young male trapped underneath a vehicle after the jack had failed.
Units arrived on scene to find a male conscious and alert but unable to move. Rescue 2 arrived on scene and deployed its HURST Jaws of Life hydraulic spreaders and the T and J Rescue Enterprises TL-9 stabilization device to lift the vehicle off the young man.
Time from the arrival of Rescue 2 to the completed removal of the patient was just under 4 minutes. Fire Department staff report that such a quick rescue would not have been possible without the TL-9.
The patient ultimately refused transport to the hospital after being evaluated by EMS on scene.
