The Young Entrepreneurs Academy graduated the 2019 class on Wednesday, April 10. The Connecticut program, supported in part by the Ridgefield Chamber of Commerce, has been run by Bobbi Jo Beers, who is stepping down at the end of the current year.
The program is housed at the WestConn campus in the Entrepreneur, Research, Innovation and Creativity facility provides instruction, support, mentoring and funding sources for students in middle and high school. Enrolled students develop business ideas, conduct market research, write business plans, pitch investors, and eventually launch their very own companies.
Projects ranged from an advertising agency to a vest for relieving anxiety.
Several of the products are in development or already being brought to market.
